Our Mission

Look on the Fields

Two point six million military personnel deployed to over 80 nations in 490 bases worldwide…

Never have our military heroes had to do so much with so few resources. Our nation pays over one billion dollars a day to care for our troops. The United States meets their physical and mental needs better than any other nation. Unfortunately, no one is caring for their spiritual needs.

More than ever, we see that no segment of society is more overlooked for missions than our military. At AFBM, we spend our days involved with military missions. Since 1964, AFBM has been ministering to our military and to our veterans. That is all we do.

Our Heroes Need a Savior

Most importantly, we realize our heroes need of a Savior, and what a Savior we have to introduce to them! God has honored our service allowing us to lead many to the saving grace of Christ. Our church plants exist as spiritual aid stations for lost sinners desperately in need of Christ.

Basic Training

Additionally, we do basic training for soul winners and Bible teachers. We encourage those who are trained, supply them with Bibles and tracts, and point them off to do spiritual combat. The work of the evangelist is incomplete until the evangelized is evangelizing others.

AFBM is on a worldwide quest for the souls of men and women in uniform and their families. We continually seek to assist laborers to sow the seed of the gospel at their place of duty, at a local veterans hospital, or in their community.

    CALLING ALL PRAYER WARRIORS:

The time has come, we have the need for more space for the Military Ministry! A contractor just left here having provided us an estimate for the following:

24x34ft addition to the back of the existing structure adding 816sq. ft. for us, affording a large guest room, large bathroom and huge open kitchen / dining hall area all for the ministry use.

he proposes building it with the basic electrical and plumbing, sheet rocked, and outside finished to match the existing structure for just over $26,000, plus what ever the additional finishes like windows, doors, faucets, lights, flooring, heat/AC, appliances etc.. would cost.

We are asking God for a total of $36,000. to complete the entire project right down to the furnishings! He is able!!

Lest you wonder if this is truly needed, we have a 2,200sq ft house and are busting at the seams nearly every Sunday trying to squeeze 40 or more people into just the common living dining area. We literally are tripping over one another most of the time, there is no private area for counseling, we have one very small spare room which people have been having to eat in as well, plus sitting in heat over 100 degrees at times on the deck. It is only a matter of time until we could get into trouble for cramming so many in such a tight area. WE NEED MORE ROOM!!

PEOPLE ARE GETTING SAVED IN THIS MINISTRY NEARLY EVERY WEEK! The Military Ministry here is fruitful and God has grown it. Please, pray earnestly for this expansion to begin ASAP. We need God to show up mightily with the provision. We believe He can and will do it. The Contractor’s name is Mr. Eddy Moore, pray for him and his crew. He is a Christian man and trying to do this as affordable for us as he can. He is ready to begin when we say go!

All contributions, if anyone feels so led, may be sent to our Mission Board :

    ARMED FORCES BAPTIST MISSIONS
    3252 Taylor Rd
    Chesapeake, VA 23321

Be sure to specify it is for – Missionary Steve Martinez / Building Fund.

OUR MISSION BOARD DOES NOT KEEP ONE PENNY, EVERY THING CONTRIBUTED GOES TO BUILDING.

Thank you for your prayers!! We love and appreciate you folks.
